PHASE CON GUIDELINES

PRESS & MEDIA

These guidelines apply for any individual attending Phase Con with intent to record, photograph, and/or stream in a personal, non-personal, or professional capacity.

Photography, recording and streaming

1. Follow Signage. Respect all signs regarding photography, recording, and streaming restrictions.

2. Photography, recording, and streaming are not permitted during panels or events unless stated otherwise.

3. Obtain permission before photographing or recording attendees, guests, or cosplayers.

4. For Livestreaming, please obtain permission from Phase Con staff before going live at the event. When streaming, please display a sign informing others that you are broadcasting live.

5. Flash photography is not permitted inside the venue for safety reasons.

General Press & Media Conduct

1. Press must apply for a Press badge on the Phase Con website a minimum of 2 weeks before the start of the event.

2. Press agrees to the standard Attendee Code of Conduct on top of the other requirements listed in these rules.

3. Press MUST always display their Press badge while they are participating in press activities at the convention.

4. Press MUST request consent from any individual or group/event being the focus of any photograph, recording or other form of media and inform them about their Press status. Consent can be either verbal or written. General overview shots or B-roll where no one is the intended focus does not require consent. Please consider the situation and be aware of any possible privacy concerns before you record.

5. Press MUST adhere to the general privacy guidelines as outlined in Phase Con’s Attendee Code of Conduct.
